Sven AnderssonExecutive Director Sven was born and raised in Linköping Sweden and moved to Canada in 1964 and to the US in 1966. He worked for American engineering companies as a design engineer and for nearly 15 years worked for the Swedish company Trelleborg in the US. In his last years with the company he was the VP of technical services. He was responsible for engineering projects both in the US as well as outside of the US and traveled extensively to countries like Canada, Chile, Peru, Brazil, Colombia, India, Japan China, The Philippines, Australia, New Guinea, Iran Jaya, Bougainville, Poland England and Germany. Sven studied Theology and has a master degree in Theology, and is also an ordained minister. In 2000 a man from Zambia, whom he met on an Alpha conference in the US, asked him to come to Zambia and help with mission work which led him to leave the US to work in Zambia. To have an umbrella organization for his mission Sven founded Doors of Hope, a nonprofit organization, in the US. Later he realized that to work effectively in Zambia the organization needed to become a native Zambian organization with its members natives of Zambia which it became in 2005. Sven works for the organization as an Executive Director. Sven returned to Sweden at the end of May 2006 to recuperate from a severe malaria attack, but this has not ended his work for Doors of Hope as he continues to work with Sweden as his base. During his time with the mission he has used his own funds to support himself so as not to encumber the organization with his personal cost.
