Last week we visited and gave out cloths and jackets to a nursing home here in Ndola (Vitanda) that is managed by the Salvation Army. They care for 28 people with only 4 nurses caring for them during the day but not during the night as there are no nurses available for the night. They are provided for their basic needs, and rely on help from relatives and other well-wishers to provide for other needs that Salvation Army is not able to give as they are working with very little money for the operation of the nursing home. What we provided for them was deeply appreciated. As this month is the coldest month of the year and gets quite cold in the night, the cloths that we gave them does provide some comfort for the cold.

Doors of Hope Zambia
P.O.Box 71041 Ndola

Dear Friends in the Lord.
I send you our greetings from Zambia. It has been almost elevens months since Sven came back to Zambia and yet it looks like yesterday. Believe me time really flies. I recall Sven looking into my eyes few weeks ago and saying to me “Davis I have to go back to Sweden in July” Every time I wonder why this man has so much passion for this country and for the poor. Little do I realize that this kind of love only comes when someone knows Jesus as their Lord and personal Savior. Yes Love is an act of our heart and our will and I think Sven has demonstrated this. 1 John 3:17-18 "If anyone has the goods of this world and see his brother in need but shuts his heart of compassion for him, how can the love of God be in him?" Sven seems to understand this scripture too well.

From the desk of Sven Andersson
For two weeks we had the pleasure of having Davis Mwanamoya, president of Doors of Hope, Zambia visiting us here in Sweden. During his visit he also participated in a Friday night outreach ministry in the inner city of Linköping. This is a joint ministry of the evangelical churches and which ministries to youth late into the night by sharing the gospel and providing coffee or tea from a parked bus in center of the town. Davis was very much appreciated by the people who are involved in this outreach on Friday nights.

Bible Verse

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him.
(1 John 5:14-15)
