Dear Friends in the Lord.
I send you our greetings from Zambia. It has been almost elevens months since Sven came back to Zambia and yet it looks like yesterday. Believe me time really flies. I recall Sven looking into my eyes few weeks ago and saying to me “Davis I have to go back to Sweden in July” Every time I wonder why this man has so much passion for this country and for the poor. Little do I realize that this kind of love only comes when someone knows Jesus as their Lord and personal Savior. Yes Love is an act of our heart and our will and I think Sven has demonstrated this. 1 John 3:17-18 "If anyone has the goods of this world and see his brother in need but shuts his heart of compassion for him, how can the love of God be in him?" Sven seems to understand this scripture too well.
The year 2009 I believe is a year that the Lord wants us to position ourselves to his calling. I strongly believe the calling for us in Doors of Hope Zambia is to bring the needy into God‘s Kingdom, disciple them and train them with the necessary skill so that they can be witness in the communities the live in. This we believe is the most effective way of evangelism to the poor in third world countries like Zambia. Our target has been to work through the Christians in the communities we operate from whose role we believe is indispensable because of their Christian morals, reliability, hard work and commitment to help. The Bible in Galatians 6:10 challenges believers to serve all men but emphasizes on the priority of fellow believers. "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the house of faith."
Our motto as we work in these communities shall be "WHATEVER YOU DO, WORK AT IT WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AS WORKING FOR THE LORD," Col 3,23:24
Our target is not only to create income for the caregivers in the communities but also to provide for those who have no means to provide for themselves, the elderly people, the orphans and those in prisons. The bible in Proverbs 3:27 say “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due. So as we start to create an income we shall support the elderly as we did when we donated second hands clothes to the home of the aged at Mitanda home of the aged. One elderly white lady in her nineties said and I quote” You cannot understand what you have done today may the all Mighty God richly bless you.” While one orphaned girl in Mackenze said, “You have been sent by God to us” and during the same meeting more than five girls and boys gave their lives to Christ.
The most challenging of all our vitiation was when we visited the Kanseshi prison. My heart bled! to see a small girl serving a sentence with her mother in prison, it was most unbelievable. Fellow believers, we can do something and we have to do something now and not tomorrow, as tomorrow will be too late for that little girl.
Doors of Hope Zambia have applied to the prison authority to allow us to run a kindergarten school in the prisons compound so these little children serving sentences with their mothers can go to school. Please pray for us that God’s will be done.
Finally let me end by thanking God for the life of Hans and how his visit encouraged us in Zambia .No words can be describe his passion, his act of kindness to the people of this country. I can only sum his passion by quoting Romans 13,8.”Love is a duty because we have the duty to love one another.”
To Samuel and Chris what a joy it was having you here. May the Lord bless you so very much.
To you all our brothers and sisters who labor to bless the need God richly bless your works of your hands.

Bible Verse

Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?
(James 2:15-16)
